The Musella Lasiocarpa is a dwarf banana tree, also called dwarf Chinese banana tree or “Golden Lotus” in reference to its country of origin, China and its superb golden yellow flowers in the shape of a lotus. Often planted at the foot of Buddhist temples in Yunnan province at an altitude of 2500 meters, its light green foliage grows in dense clumps and resists wind and cold well down to -15° C.
