Dracaena Draco

The Canary Islands dragon tree (Dracaena draco), or common dragon tree, is a monocotyledonous tree plant of the family Liliaceae (or Dracaenaceae) according to the classical classification, or Asparagaceae (or Ruscaceae) according to the phylogenetic classification.

The Canary Islands dragon tree looks like a large parasol which, when old, can reach more than 20 m in height, with a wide flared foot carrying a very dense crown, in the shape of a spherical cap of about twenty meters in diameter, supported by a dense network of intertwined branches.
