Plumose celosia is a hardy perennial grown as an annual for the erect, feathery inflorescences that grow at the top of the stems. It is planted in full sun in fertile, moist and well-drained soil. Flowering begins in July and produces colorful inflorescences in shades of orange, red, pink and yellow. The light green foliage is made up of oval to lanceolate leaves, entire and veined. These are plants that will be used in borders, in flowerbeds, as dried flowers, in pots, or for cut flowers.
There are a multitude of feathery celosia cultivars with variable colours, dimensions and characteristics, such as ‘Red fox’ with intense red flowers, or ‘Apricot Brandy’ with orange flowers.
