Adansonia Digitata

The African Baobab (Adansonia digitata) is the best known of the eight baobab species. It is an African caudiciform tree of the genus Adansonia and of the family Bombacaceae, according to the classical classification, or Malvaceae, according to the phylogenetic classification. Sacred for several cultures, it is also a palaver tree that it is inappropriate or sacrilegious to cut. It is the typical tree of dry tropical Africa and the emblem of Senegal and Guinea.
