Skimmia ‘Rubella’ is a good heather plant, compact and floriferous. Its elongated foliage is dark green and shiny. Its red flower buds, gathered in upright clusters, are decorative from November! They bloom pinkish white in March-April, giving off a delicious scent of orange blossom. It forms a rounded, low shrub, spreading slightly at maturity.
Its maintenance is very limited. It will be perfect in beds, undergrowth, fresh rockery, border or container on a balcony or terrace. It appreciates a semi-shaded exposure, a cool and slightly acidic soil.
