Heliconia Rostrata

Heliconia rostrata is a species of flowering plant in the Heliconiaceae family, native to northwestern South America (Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru). It has established itself in other tropical regions such as Reunion Island, in the Indian Ocean.

It is a herbaceous plant which can reach 5 m in height and which has the particularity of having drooping inflorescences and long leaves of 60 cm to 1.2 m reminiscent of those of banana trees.
