Dwarf Banana Bonzai

Musa acuminata is a species of banana in the family Musaceae native to Southeast Asia.
Most varieties of modern edible bananas (and in particular the famous Cavendish) belong to this species, even if some (plantains, ‘Fig-Pomme’…) belong to the species Musa ×paradisiaca, the hybrid between Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana.

Musa acuminata is one of the first species cultivated by man around 8000 BC. This is one of the earliest examples of domesticated plants.
