Drosera capensis is a plant species in the Droseraceae family. It is a carnivorous plant from the marshes of South Africa. It is found rather in the south-west of the Cape; the climate is temperate and humid. It grows wild in full light or partial shade.
It has been shown that the carnivorous diet of sundews is not a simple substitution diet: feeding on prey also increases the photosynthesis of this species.
