Hemerocallis is the common name given to plants of the genus Hemerocallis which belongs to the Liliaceae family according to the classical classification or to the Xanthorrhoeaceae family according to the phylogenetic classification.
The flowers of these plants are very diverse in color and shape. More than sixty thousand cultivars, mostly resulting from hybridizations by gardening enthusiasts, are listed, appreciated and studied by international Hemerocallis societies.
