Saxifraga Stolonifera

Stoloniferous Saxifrage (Saxifraga stolonifera Curtis, 1774) is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Saxifragaceae family. This saxifrage native to Asia is a creeping plant that is 10 to 20cm high, whose inflorescence bears small zygomorphic flowers that bloom during the transition between spring and summer. Like strawberries, it produces runners with seedlings at their tips, allowing it to spread easily. It was introduced to France where it is cultivated as an ornamental plant and has become naturalized in eastern regions such as Var or Alsace.
