Hibiscus Syriacus

Hibiscus syriacus, the Syrian Hybiscus, more commonly known as Hibiscus, Hibiscus or Althea, is a species of shrub in the Malvaceae family. Contrary to what its name suggests, the species is native to China and Taiwan. It is very widely cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens and has been introduced almost everywhere in the world, notably in Europe via Syria, and can become invasive in certain countries.
