Ceanothus (Ceanothus), sometimes called California lilacs for their delicate fragrance and their pretty blue spikes, are easy-to-grow shrubs, whose many shapes allow for a variety of uses.
This genus belongs to the Rhamnaceae family and includes 55 species of shrubs and small trees native to North America, especially California and the mountains of Mexico (Nearctic Ecozone).
