Tillandsia Usneoides

Tillandsia usneoides, also called Spanish moss, air maiden or old man’s beard, is a species of epiphytic plant in the Bromeliaceae family. It grows on the American continent where it hangs from the branches of trees, telephone wires and any other aerial support where it captures humidity from the air and nutrients in the form of dust. It is sometimes confused with usnea barbu, a form of lichen. However, Spanish moss is not biologically part of the lichens or mosses.
