The Japanese Azalea Rex or Rhododendron hybrid is an evergreen shrub with a fairly compact ball shape. This robust and vigorous species grows in layers. Early flowering, it blooms from April to May. It offers a generous flowering giving clusters of 12 to 25 bell-shaped flowers which appear before the leaves. 4 to 5 cm in diameter, these fluffy flowers are salmon pink.
