Chlorophytum comosum is a species of plant in the Liliaceae family according to the classical classification, or in the Asparagaceae family according to the phylogenetic classification, originating from South Africa.
Chlorophytum comosum is probably the best known of the genus Chlorophytum. Indeed, easy to grow, it is widely present as an ornamental apartment plant.
A study carried out in 1989 by NASA classifies it among the depolluting plants, but its effectiveness has not been proven under realistic conditions.
